I won’t tell you, there’s nothing ‘neath your bed
I won’t sell you, that it’s all in your head
This world of ours is not as it seems
The monsters are real but they’re not in your dreams
Learn what you can from the beasts you defeat,
you’ll need it for some of the people you meetI need to stop for a moment and talk about this song.
At first, when I listen to it I wasn’t a fan, but, adoring fan of Voltaire I was, I listened to it again and again. I don’t know when indifference turned to adoration, but I do know that this song has a very important place in my heart.
This is the song that I want to sing to my children, my friend’s children, any child. This is a song that I think every child should grow up with.
It doesn’t sugar coat things. It does not say that the world is a happy place.
It says that the world is a very dark place, with people who will hurt you, but you’re strong. You can fight them. You will succeed! Fight for every second of your life! If you lose, brush yourself off and keep fighting!
The world is big and scary, but you have the capacity to stand up to those things that threaten to beat you into the ground, and take them down.
Pareço inútil, mas já fui o último sobrevivente do meu time em um jogo de queimada.
